Jonathan Cheon, D.O.

Dr. Cheon is a Korean-American who was born and raised in southeast Michigan and has lived with his family in a city called Troy for the majority of his life. He acquired his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Oakland University, and discovered Osteopathic medicine just as he was finishing his undergraduate studies. During his gap year, he studied for the MCAT, applied to osteopathic medical schools, and worked as a scribe in the Emergency Department. He completed his Osteopathic medical education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he served as VP of the SAAO, a TA for the OMM labs, and also acquired his certification as a personal trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine during his medical training. His unwavering passion for osteopathic, holistic, functional, preventive, and hands-on patient care convinced him to pursue Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine as his specialty. Dr. Cheon also has interests in Integrative Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Performing Arts Medicine and is exploring how these would fit into his future practice as an ONMM physician.

In his free time, you can find Dr. Cheon spending time with family and friends or learning new cover songs on the keyboard, guitar, or cello. He enjoys playing sports outdoors with a bias toward basketball and volleyball. He aspires to be a dunker and can often be found training in the gym as he works towards achieving this goal. He also enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, foods, and people. He is also working to grow his presence on social media as an advocate for osteopathy, OMM, mental health, and self-improvement.
